Sean Pieroth (He/Him) is a Boston-based lighting designer originally from Chicago. He graduated from Emerson College in 2015 with a BFA in Theater Design and Technology. While at Emerson, Sean was a National Finalist for Excellence In Lighting Design at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in 2014 for his design of Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy. After graduating, he joined the American Repertory Theater as the Lighting Design Fellow for their 2015-2016 season, where he shadowed and assisted the season’s lighting designers. After a short break freelancing, Sean was hired at the ART as the House Lighting Programmer at OBERON, where he has worked for the last five years. At OBERON, Sean has designed nearly 100 shows and events annually ranging across many genres including (but definitely not limited to): burlesque, live music, circus, musicals, drag, club nights/parties, solo performances, and spoken word. His role also includes programming for shows with their own lighting designers.
